U2 Green Day破天荒攜手表演籌款
助風災後新奧爾良音樂發展
【本報綜合報道】當今全球兩大搖滾勁旅U2及Green Day為受颱風卡里特娜影響的新奧爾良災民，將攜手合作推出新唱片及表演﹗唱片封套更跟足披頭四的經典大碟《Abbey Road》的封面，以向樂隊致敬。
美國新奧爾良去年受颶風卡里特娜侵襲後，當地的路易斯安那Superdome體育場受嚴重破壞，不少人亦頓失生計，尤其他們引以為傲的音樂發展亦遭受嚴重破壞，由U2結他手The Edge發起的音樂基金Music Rising早前就在當地舉行過演唱會，為當地的音樂機構添置新樂器及協助重建當地的音樂業。
今次U2及Green Day再為災民盡一點心意，決定本月25號在重建後重新啟用的美式足球會場舉行的美式足球比賽前表演，樂迷可以在網上付錢收看表演，所得的善款將撥捐給 Music Rising，Green Day主音Billie Joe Armstrong說﹕「新奧爾良是我們喜愛的地方，風災後一年仍未恢復過來。希望借助U2的號召力，令更多人知道當地災民仍然需要協助重建家園。」
唱片封套向披頭四致敬
而U2與Green Day亦會把當晚合作的歌曲《The Saints Are Coming》錄成唱片籌款。最為人談論的是他們新碟封面抄足披頭四1969年推出的《Abbey Road》大碟的封套照片。不過U2與Green Day的新版本則是兩隊成員各站一端，然後他們在馬路上迎面而過。U2主音Bono表示﹕「披頭四是我們兩隊樂隊極尊敬的偶像，而這張新碟剛巧在 Abbey Road錄音室灌錄，所以不得不令我們重現披頭四於Abbey Road的經典模樣，即使被人話我們抄襲都不介意。」
