Pistons Sign Guard Maurice Evans
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Detroit Pistons President of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars announced today that the club has signed guard Maurice Evans to a contract. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
“Maurice Evans will be a great addition to our team,” said Dumars. “He’s young, athletic and very talented. He gives us a versatile player coming off the bench who plays hard on both ends of the floor.”
Detroit first signed Evans, who played for Sacramento last season, to an offer sheet on August 24. Sacramento did not match Detroit’s offer allowing for the two sides to reach a contract agreement.
During the 2004-05 season, Evans averaged 6.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 19.0 minutes, playing in 65 games (11 starts) for the Kings. He shot 44.2% (165-373 FG) from the field and 32.9% (27-82 FG) from three-point range. In three first round playoff games with the Kings, he averaged 6.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 18.7 minutes per game.
Evans began his career in Minnesota during the 2001-02 NBA season. In 10 games with the Timberwolves, he averaged 2.1 points in 4.5 minutes per game during his rookie season. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound swingman has played in 75 career NBA games and averaged 5.8 points and 2.7 rebounds while shooting 44.4% from the field.

再過幾天，NBA 2005-06賽季就即將點燃戰火，而連續兩年闖進總冠軍賽的活塞，今天(1日)也正式與「底特律王子」Tayshaun Prince簽下一張為期五年、價值4700萬美元的延長合約，避免Prince在本季結束後成為受限自由球員。
活塞籃球事務部總裁Joe Dumars說：「Prince是活塞陣營相當重要的球員，我們非常肯定他過去三個球季的表現，我也很高興看到他能一直穿著活塞戰袍直到2010-11賽季。」
現年24歲的Prince在過去三個球季中替活塞打了206場例行賽事，其中有167次先發紀錄，平均每場比賽可貢獻10.6分、4.2籃板及2.2助攻。上季82場例行賽事全勤出賽的Prince，不但繳出生涯新高的14.7分、5.3籃板及3助攻成
績單，出色的防守本領更讓他榮獲年度防守第二隊殊榮。
Prince是在2002年夏天以選秀第23順位身份加盟活塞陣營，雖然他在菜鳥球季沒有太多先發機會，但他當年在季後賽期間靠著詭異且嚴密的防守讓Tracy McGrady吃足了苦頭因而一戰成名，而且Prince也成為繼Dumars(1996年)之後，首位在季後賽擔任先發重任的菜鳥球員。 -

活塞今日(1日)將替補前鋒Ronald Dupree當成交易籌碼送至明尼蘇達，藉此從灰狼手中換取一個第二輪選秀權。活塞此舉不但獲得一個選秀權，更騰出一個位置登錄菜鳥後衛Alex Acker。
身高6呎7吋的Dupree在過去兩個球季先後效力於公牛及活塞陣營，去年夏天他與活塞簽下一張為期兩年的合約後，在上個球季替活塞打了47場例行賽事，平均每場比賽僅有3.2分及2籃板進帳。
活塞送走Dupree後，就準備將今夏以選秀第60順位身份加盟活塞陣營的Acker登錄在球員名單中，身高6呎5吋的Acker在熱身賽期間出賽7場，平均上場時間9.3分鐘，每場比賽只有2.3分、2.6助攻及1.4籃板表現。 -
